Mistral Gin
mistralgin.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Distilled in Provence, this pale salmon-pink gin is built on neutral grape spirit redistilled in two parts. Six traditional botanicals — juniper, cardamom, grains of paradise, pink peppercorns, orris and coriander — are distilled together, while six Provençal botanicals — thyme, basil, fennel, pink grapefruit, eucalyptus and mint — hand-picked on Montagne du Lure, are distilled separately, then the two gins are blended. Pink grapefruit gives it both colour and a juicy lift — a botanical to reach for when you build your own bill.
