TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

This website is published by ARTISAN GIN PTY LTD (ABN 96655696978) trading as Gin School®, Captain Moreton’s Rum School, and Rivertown Gin (“Artisan Gin”).

Your use of www.artisangin.com.au, www.ginschool.co, or www.rumschool.co (collectively, “the website”) is subject to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms of Use”). All services provided by Artisan Gin—including class bookings, product purchases, and custom gin orders—are governed by these Terms of Use and the company’s published policies. By using the website, you are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.


LIQUOR LICENSING COMPLIANCE

Under the Queensland Liquor Act 1992, it is an offence to supply liquor to, or purchase liquor for, anyone under 18 years of age. By purchasing from us, you confirm you are over 18 and legally entitled to buy alcohol in Australia.

Orders received via our website are supplied in accordance with Australian state and territory liquor laws.


GIN SCHOOL® & CAPTAIN MORETON’S RUM SCHOOL

Booking & Payment

  • Full payment is required in advance.

  • Prepaid gift cards are valid as payment and do not expire.

  • Gift cards cannot be refunded, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.

  • Each booking covers one individual participant (18+ only).

Substitute Attendees

If you cannot attend, you may send a substitute participant by updating your booking at least 2 hours before class via the online portal. Ensure the substitute’s contact and dietary details are updated.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • More than 7 days’ notice: 100% class credit issued as a non-expiring gift card.

  • 72 hours–7 days: 80% class credit.

  • Less than 72 hours: 50% class credit.

  • No-shows: No refund or credit.

Gift cards issued for cancelled bookings never expire and can be used to rebook at any time.

Class Conduct & Safety

  • Participants must arrive 15 minutes early. Entry may be refused for arrivals over 15 minutes late without refund.

  • Participants must not attend if unwell or contagious within 48 hours of class. Substitute attendance is encouraged.

  • Comfortable, closed footwear is required.

  • Intoxicated or disruptive participants will be refused entry under Queensland liquor laws.

  • All classes involve interaction with distillery equipment; attendees participate at their own risk.

Allergies

Our facilities handle nuts, grains, dairy, and other allergens. Guests with severe allergies must contact cs@ginschool.coprior to booking and may be required to complete an indemnity form. Failure to disclose may result in refusal of entry without refund.

Filming & Promotion

Classes may be recorded or photographed for marketing purposes. Attendance constitutes consent for use of your likeness in promotional materials.

Liability & Property

Artisan Gin accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings. Damage to Artisan Gin property caused by participants will be charged to the responsible person or organiser.


CUSTOM & BESPOKE GIN ORDERS

Artisan Gin offers customers the ability to create personalised gin recipes online. By submitting an order or recipe, you agree to the following terms:

  1. Production & Delivery: Custom gin orders are distilled individually and typically ship within 7–10 business days.

  2. Accuracy: Customers are responsible for the accuracy of recipe ingredients, names, and labelling. Errors submitted online are final.

  3. Non-Refundable: Custom gin orders cannot be altered, cancelled, or refunded after submission.

  4. Marketplace Recipes: If you submit a recipe for inclusion in our marketplace, you grant Artisan Gin a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, promote, and reproduce your recipe and its name for sale to others.

  5. Defective or Damaged Goods: In the rare event of breakage or error during shipping, please contact cs@ginschool.co within 7 days. We may request photos and will assist under our Insurance Policy (see below).


SHIPPING & INSURANCE POLICY

We pride ourselves on same-day dispatch for orders received before 12:00 PM AEST. However, during high-volume periods (especially Mondays following weekend sales), delays of up to 24 hours may occur.

Delivery Terms

  • Title and risk in goods transfer to you upon delivery.

  • Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to carrier delays or external factors.

  • We are not responsible for late or failed deliveries caused by couriers or third parties.

Insurance Option

Customers may opt to add Shipping Insurance at checkout to protect against loss, theft, or damage in transit.
If in doubt—take it out.
Uninsured shipments damaged in transit cannot be replaced or refunded once dispatched.


RETURNS & REFUND POLICY

Due to liquor licensing laws and the nature of our products, no returns or refunds are offered for:

  • Bottled spirits (including Rivertown Gins, Bespoke Gins, or Custom Gins)

  • Completed Gin School or Rum School bookings

  • Gift cards or vouchers (these do not expire)

Replacements may be considered only where goods arrive damaged and insurance has been purchased. Contact cs@ginschool.co with proof of purchase and photos of the damage within 7 days.


RIVERTOWN GIN SALES

Rivertown Gins are sold directly online and through our Edward Street venue.

Pricing Guarantee

If you find an identical Rivertown Gin sold cheaper by an authorised Australian retailer within 7 days of purchase, we’ll issue a gift card for the difference. This excludes duty-free, clearance, or below-cost promotions. Submit claims to cs@ginschool.co with proof of purchase and evidence of the lower price.


INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All intellectual property—including trademarks, trade dress, recipes, labels, photography, website design, and text—is owned by Artisan Gin Pty Ltd. Reproduction without written consent is strictly prohibited.


PRIVACY POLICY

Artisan Gin collects limited personal information for class bookings, sales, and customer communications. We respect your privacy and comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles. Your data will not be sold or disclosed except as required to fulfil orders or by law.
You may request removal or correction of your information by emailing cs@ginschool.co.


GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be handled exclusively in Queensland courts.
