Roku Gin

House of Suntory Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry

Roku — Japanese for ‘six’ — is the House of Suntory's craft gin, built around six Japanese botanicals picked at the peak of their season, shun. Sakura cherry-blossom flower and leaf bring spring; sencha and refined gyokuro green teas, summer; numbing sanshō pepper, autumn; and bright yuzu peel, winter. Eight classic botanicals ground them — juniper, coriander, angelica seed and root, cinnamon, cardamom, bitter orange and lemon peel. Each of the fourteen is distilled separately to capture its character, then masterfully blended — delicate, layered and unmistakably Japanese. Exquisite in a Roku & Tonic with fresh ginger.
