Hayman's English Cordial Gin
haymansgin.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Introduced in 2016 in limited releases of 1,500 bottles, Hayman's English Cordial Gin revives a sweetened style enjoyed in the 1800s, when sugar helped soften the rougher base spirits of the day. It is built on Hayman's signature ten botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, nutmeg, cinnamon, angelica root, orris root, cassia bark, liquorice, Spanish orange and lemon peel.
Liquorice lends a rounded, earthy sweetness that carries a cordial style without tipping into syrup — a hero botanical to reach for when you build your own gin.
