Bulldog Gin is contract distilled in England in a traditional pot still, but leans on untraditional botanicals: dragon eye (longan), poppy and lotus leaves. The more conventional crowd takes in lemon peel, almond, cassia, lavender, orris, liquorice, angelica, coriander and, of course, juniper. Those exotic lotus leaves lend a quiet, unexpected character — the kind of left-field choice that makes a homemade bill memorable.
