Cockney’s Gin
cockneysgin.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
First distilled in 1838 in Ghent by a travelling Londoner, Cockney's Gin is now made by owner-distiller Luc Waterschoot. Where the original used just three botanicals, today's recipe boasts eighteen, including juniper, coriander, gentian, angelica root, cumin, paradise seed, liquorice, grapefruit and bitter orange. The earthy gentian is an unusual choice — a bittering botanical worth exploring when you build your own gin.
