Zuidam Dry Gin

Zuidam Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry

Fred and Patrick van Zuidam, a father-and-son team, distil each botanical separately in an 850-litre antique copper still before blending the distillates with neutral grain spirit. Fresh Spanish oranges and lemons replace dried peels alongside Italian juniper and orris root, Moroccan coriander, whole Madagascan vanilla beans, Indian liquorice root, Sri Lankan cardamom and angelica root. That whole Madagascan vanilla lends a rounded sweetness — a hero to reach for when you build your own gin.
