Silent Pool Black Juniper
blackjuniper.co Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Black Juniper takes its name from tiny juniper berries hand-foraged above 4,000 metres in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, then smoked over agarwood. Around this rare smoked juniper sit exotic botanicals — bitter orange, manuka leaves, olive leaves, Tasmanian mountain pepper, oud and cloud tea — grounded by coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root and liquorice root. Smoked juniper is a bold reinvention of the classic — one to reach for when you build your own bill.
