Makar Mulberry Aged Gin
glasgowdistillery.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Makar Mulberry Aged Gin takes the Glasgow distillery's eight-botanical recipe and rests it in virgin mulberry wood casks for ten weeks. The bill carries juniper, angelica root, liquorice, coriander seeds, lemon peel, cassia bark, black peppercorns and rosemary. GinSchool tip: ageing a finished gin in fresh wood draws out tannin and spice from the cask itself, softening the spirit and adding a colour the botanicals never could.
