Tappers Figgy Pudding Gin
tappersgin.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
A Christmas limited edition, Tappers Figgy Pudding Gin celebrates the 16th-century British dessert by infusing — rather than redistilling — its botanicals in neutral spirit, giving an amber colour. The bill brings together juniper, fig, apple, raisin, sultana, orange peel, allspice and cassia for a rich, festive, fruitcake character. GinSchool discovery: allspice tastes like a blend of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg in a single berry — a brilliant shortcut to warm, spiced complexity when you build a wintry gin.
