Staibano Positano Gin follows a recipe created by Don Vincenzo Staibano in the 1950s for Lucia, the love of his life, who wanted something stronger and less sweet than his liqueurs — he named it after her birthplace. It is distilled with a secret array of botanicals including rosemary and the house's illustrious Amalfi lemons, with a touch of treasured Amalfi lemon oil added afterwards for a perfume-like aroma. GinSchool discovery: lemon oil pressed from the peel carries the brightest citrus aromatics of all — adding it post-distillation, as here, keeps that fresh zing alive in the glass.
