Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin
ukiyospirits.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Made in Chiba, east of Tokyo, Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin is built on a shochu distilled from fermented locally grown rice, then redistilled with a juniper base and Japanese botanicals including yuzu, sansho, mikan peel and sakura. The tingling, citrus-pepper sansho gives it an unmistakably Japanese edge — a hero botanical to reach for when you build your own bill.
