Ukiyo Blossom Gin
ukiyospirits.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Made in Chiba, east of Tokyo, Ukiyo Blossom Gin starts from a shochu distilled from fermented locally grown rice, then redistils it with Japanese botanicals including sakura (cherry blossom), yuzu, sansho and mikan peel over a juniper base. The result is delicately floral, with notes of cherry blossom, orange and a slight woody spice. That fragrant sakura is a hero botanical to make your own gin sing.
