Tarquin The Hopster Dry Gin
southwesterndistillery.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
A collaboration with Sharp's Brewery, Tarquin's The Hopster is distilled in Southwestern Distillery's flame-fired copper still "Tamara" using three different hops — Crystal, Cascade and Pilot — over a juniper base. Fewer than 300 bottles were released in October 2016. GinSchool discovery: hops share aromatic terpenes with juniper, so they slot naturally into gin, adding bright citrus, floral and resinous notes — a fun bridge between beer and gin to try in your own bill.
