Star of Bombay
bombaysapphire.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
Star of Bombay is built on the same eight botanicals as Bombay Dry — juniper, coriander, lemon peel, orris, angelica, almond, liquorice and cassia — with two additions: dried bergamot orange peel from Calabria and ambrette seed from Ecuador. It is vapour-infused at a lower still temperature for a slower, 9.5-hour distillation. GinSchool discovery: ambrette seed contributes musky, earthy, slightly nutty notes — a natural plant-based musk worth exploring when you want depth and a soft, lingering base in your own gin.
