Schinkenhäger

Schinkenhäger Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry

Schinkenhäger is a traditional German juniper schnapps from Steinhagen, where the König family have made a gin-like spirit since the early 17th century. It is triple-distilled from a blend of rye and wheat flavoured with juniper, and bottled in a distinctive clay crock. GinSchool discovery: the grain base itself shapes a spirit — a malty rye foundation gives body before a single botanical is added to your own gin.
