Made by the Spanish firm Beveland, Perigan's was billed as pure grain spirit with a subtle hint of cannabis — though the cannabis flavouring and colouring are added after distillation, with juniper the only real botanical. It was pulled from UK sale in 2007 after the Portman Group ruled its leaf-illustrated packaging breached marketing rules. With novelty flavourings sidelined, juniper remains the backbone every gin you build is grounded on.
