Desert Juniper Gin
handcraftedgin.com Reviewed by Gin School; distillery has not claimed entry
First released in late 1998, Desert Juniper is made by Bendistillery in batches of around 500 gallons, then filtered through crushed volcanic lava rock up to ten times before bottling. The juniper berries are harvested locally in Oregon from one of the world's largest juniper forests, putting that single botanical front and centre. With juniper doing nearly all the work here, it's the hero botanical to master first when you build your own bill.
